Recently Samsung released Android 4.1.2 XXEMH4 for Galaxy S3 International version (GT-I9300). The update is available through OTA and Kies for the users of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. May be this is the final version of Android 4.1.2 for the following countries before the upcoming Android 4.3 update .The update include some battery and performance tweaks.

In this I included the steps to manually flash Android 4.1.2 Jelly bean XXEMH4 to Galaxy S3 I9300 International version using Odin.

Firmware Details
PDA: I9300XXEMH4
CSC: I9300ODDEMI2
MODEM: I9300DDEMG2

Note :
1. Backup your important data.
2. Enable USB debugging in your phone.
3. Battery must have 60% or more charge.
4. Disable or Exit Antivirus and Kies if you are installed.
5. Your PC must install Kies or Galaxy S3 driver.
6. This Firmware is only for Galaxy S3 I9300 International Version.

How To Flash Official Android 4.1.2 I9300XXEMH4 in Galaxy S3 I9300 using Odin ?

1. Download Official Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 I9300XXEMH4 for your country from below links.
  India | Sri Lanka | Bangladesh | Nepal
2. Extract the downloaded firmware zip.
3. Download Odin v1.85 - Download
4. Now, Extract and Open odin3 v1.85.exe.
5. Power off your phone.
6. Now boot in to download mode. ( Press and hold : Volume down key and Home button ( Center button ) ,now press and hold the power button to boot in to download mode and Press Volume up on Warning)
7. In download mode connect your phone to PC.
8. Now look in to Odin... ID:COM box, it will be yellow with a port name and Added! message will be displayed.
( If not it will the problem of driver or USB ... check both )



9. In Odin..Click PDA and browse the extracted firmware folder and select I9300XXEMH4_I9300ODDEMI2_I9300DDEMG2_HOME.tar.md5 finally Click Start button.



10. After complete update Odin will show PASS on top left and phone will reboot. now unplug phone from USB.



Thats it .... Done .

Note :
If the phone stuck at the boot screen...
1. Remove and reinsert your battery.
2. Now boot into recovery mode. (Volume up + Home + Power )
3. Apply wipe data/factory reset.
4. Apply wipe cache partition.
5. Finally reboot system...

Done !

Some developers solely rely on the earnings from there apps. Now, if developers love pushing ads, users don’t like them at all. That’s why we have paid version of same apps that has no ads. That’s a win-win situation for everyone; developers get some cash, users get an ad free experience.

But some developers go greedy over time (I don’t know a better way to put it). They start pushing wretched ads. And if there is one thing that users don’t like then it’s those godforsaken ads that take up the whole screen and redirect you to various links to install something that you really don’t want to. Now, just to be clear, we don’t want to give an impression that we despise ads, we know ads are a necessity and we completely support that. But full screen ads are just too much. And if you don’t have any control over those ads then it’s just not bearable. That’s what’s happening with Xender recently.

Xender is one of the most popular file sharing app. I’ve been using it for years. But itslatest update brought an adware that gets activated everytime I charge my phone. It acts as a lockscreen over the existing lockscreen. It takes up the whole screen and claims to boost charging speed by 20%. Wow, that’s huge right? Well, it’s fake. It’s an adware that comes in the form of a battery booster that does nothing of the kind.

Well, one thing that it surely does is show you ads. Ads placed here take up lower half of the screen. And in order to get to the actual lockscreen you’ll have to swipe right. Since ads take up majority of that area, it’s highly likely that you’ll tap on that ad and will be taken to a webpage.

According to a lot Android users, not only Xender, but ES explorer, Amber Weather, Kitty Play Wallpaper Ringtones, Apps by Zero team, Apps by Touchpal, Kingo Root, etc. are also showing same adware.

The lockscreen has a settings button on the top from where you can disable it. This works on Xender but I’m not sure regarding other apps. ES explorer users are also reporting that it has option to turn the lockscreen off in app settings. But if this does not work for you, you should go over apps permissions and deny it permission to draw over other apps. This seems to working for me right now. If all else fails, simply uninstall the app and find a new alternative.
