How To Block Cell Broadcast SMS Notification in Android

Just now I flashed Cyanogen Mod Nightly in my Galaxy S3. Everything works smoothly and better, but a broadcasting SMS from cell broadcast channel 50 annoys me repeatedly. I got 50+ notification in just 15 minutes. Tried to black list, force stop, etc. But nothing worked. Finally, I found a solution from the CM forum which I shares here.

Block Notification From Cell Broadcast Channel 50

1. Open Terminal Emulator
2. Type su and tap on enter
(Allow on Superuser Permission popup)
3. Then type pm disable com.android.cellbroadcastreceiver and tap on enter.



4. Thats it .. You will get the success message as below
"package com.android.cellbroadcastreceiver new state: disabled"

How to Fix ICS Keyboard Enter Key Smiley Key On SMS

Most of the people may uses Emoticons (Smiley) than Enter key while chatting with friends. May be because of that, in the default SMS app of Android 4.0 (ICS), By default the Keyboard included an Emoticons (smiley) key in the place of Enter key. So if we like to have Enter key in place of Emoticons, then we can change it from the sms settings. here is the steps...

How To Enable Enter Key in Android 4.0 ( ICS ) Default SMS App?

1. Open SMS app.
2. Go to Setting using softkey or Action bar 3 dots.
3. In the settings screen....scroll down to bottom and tap on Soft keyboard type.
4. Finally in the Dialog select Show the Enter key

Thats it done...

UPDATE :
On Android 4.1+ (Jelly Bean)+ You can get the enter key by simply clicking the shift button. see the below image. ( Thanks to Kakouz )

How To Block Spam SMS From Telecom Providers

it is quite annoying the way these telecommication providers do invade our privacy, sometimes i wounder if it is by force to subscribe to those packages they showcase, This morning i was expecting a bank alert and an sms came in, I smiled hoping that the money has been paid then I open the sms only for me to see the below message
