Here Are Your Winners of the GIGABYTE Z97 Last Hurrah Contest!

The GIGABYTE Z97 Last Hurrah wrapped up last week and now the results are official.

We would like to congratulate Xtreme Addict and Arhaam for winning the contest. Xtreme Addict took first place in the Extreme Cooling category with 79 points and won a GIGABYTE Z170X-SOC Force motherboard. Arhaam won the ambient cooling category with 73 points and is also taking home a GIGABYTE Z170X-SOC Force board.

Give GIGABYTEs Z97 a Last Hurrah on HWBOT

Our love for overclocking at GIGABYTE means we are big supporters of the community. If you head on over to our friends at HWBot you’ll see we are sponsoring the GIGABYTE Z97-Last Hurrah Challenge with $2,000 USD in cash prizes as well as two mystery motherboard prizes. This new challenge gives the community a last chance to test their skills on the GIGABYTE Z97 platform before the launch of Intel’s eagerly anticipated 6th Gen. CPU and Z170 chipset next month.

Overclockers will have the chance to win some serious cash by pushing their CPU to the absolute limit on a GIGABYTE Z97 motherboard with their preferred cooling setup. The contest is divided into four stages, and contestants submit their best score. The more points the better.




Here’s a breakdown of the contest stages:

Category 1: Air/Water Cooling (Ambient)

Stage 1: XTU – July 10th until July 25th

· CPU frequency is to be set at 4GHz max

Stage 2: GeekBench-3 Multi Core – July 10th until August 10th

· CPU frequency is to be set at 4GHz max

Stage 3: XTU – July 10th until August 20th

· CPU frequency is to be set at 4.5GHz max


Stage 4: GPUPI for CPU - 1B – July 10th until August 30th

· CPU frequency is to be set at 4GHz max


Category 2: Extreme Cooling

Stage 1: GeekBench-3 Multi Core – July 10th until July 25th

Stage 2: XTU – July 10th until August 10th

· CPU frequency is to be set at 5GHz max

Stage 3: GeekBench-3 Single Core – July 10th until August 20th

Stage 4: GPUPI for CPU - 1B – July 10th until August 30th
The GIGABYTE-Z97 Last Hurrah Challenge will run from July 10th until August 30th 2015, 23:59 (UTC +8).
